The New Honda Amaze Sedan will enter the Indian market as the most fuel efficient car of 25.8 kmpl.
Automobile maker Honda Launch his new Amaze saden in India. The booking of the car that has already been made open has garnered a lot of attraction from the buyers.
Honda’s maiden diesel offering is one of the most eagerly awaited of the company’s products. The 1.5-litre i-DTEC oil-burner has been developed by the former Honda F1 team.According to the company, the sub four-metre sedan claims to deliver fuel efficiency of 25.8 kmpl.
Amaze sedan is Based on the Brio hatchback, the Amaze has been designed to meet the small car norms of being under 4m in length.
HCIL Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Jnaneswar Sen said,”The Amaze is a critically important car for us. Not only that we are entering a new segment of entry level sedan, we are also introducing our first diesel engine here. It is a growing segment and this should help us grow,”.
The Amaze still has a very unconventional styling – just like the Brio. Unlike most Honda models the design is not subtle. You will either love it or absolutely hate it. But we have a feeling that a larger number will like the looks of this entry-level sedan. In the front, the Amaze has got a completely new grille to differentiate it from its hatchback sibling but shares other components like the headlights and bumpers. The sides and the rear have changed too for obvious reasons. The rearend now has quite a useable boot of around 420 liters which is significantly higher than its chief rival the Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire.
We discovered during the road test, that it can hold a similar amount of luggage as the Dzire but is not very well designed and this means that buyers would have to do a little ‘moving the blocks’ to fit in larger pieces of luggage. There is a large strip of chrome running the length of the boot door and this has given the car a premium look. The Amaze will be offered in two engine options the in India, 1.2 litre petrol unit gets carried over and puts out around 90PS and 109Nm while the 1.5-litre diesel engine with 100PS and 208Nm.
The Honda Amaze is expected to come with the shades of Black, Silver, White, Azure Grey, Carnelian red peal and Blue.
While the diesel variants will have only a 5-speed manual transmission, the petrol Amaze will come with both a 5-speed manual and automatic transmission as options.
Honda Amaze expected to be priced in the Rs 5.5 lakh – Rs 7.5 lakh .
The Honda Amaze will lock horns against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Toyota Etios and Tata Indigo CS. The company had said it would locally produce the 1.5 litre diesel engines for Amaze at its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan while, the car will be rolled out from its Greater Noida plant.
